Where to start...

I have been dreaming and planning about what this blog would look like for a while.  Not only what template I wanted to use, but what I wanted to share.  I mulled over what my pictures would look like.  I even took an amazing online photography class to help me capture my days in a more beautiful light (more on that later).  I thought about what topics I wanted to blog about, how much to share, how often I would post.  I think I spent so much time thinking about what I wanted to post that I forgot I actually had to post something.

So enough thinking, and more doing...

I tend to be a perfectionist when it comes to certain things.  I like my bookshelves to be very neat.  I like clutter to be off the floor and in it's appropriate place.  I am always rearranging the pillows on our couches.  I am not, however, a perfectionist when it comes to clean floors, the dishes, or taking care of all the spider webs and dust bunnies around the house.  No one is perfect, right?  When it came to staring this blog though, I found myself feeling like I couldn't start posting until things were just how I wanted it or until I found the perfect time to work.

But things will never get done if I wait for the perfect time.  So here I go.

The kids are now asleep.  But when I first sat down to type my almost one year old woke up and wanted some kisses.  Then my two year old wanted me to come and sing him the "Santa Song" one more time (we don't really even talk much about Santa at Christmas time, but Grafton brings him up probably once a day the rest of the year).  After extra kisses and hugs I have a few moments to type, and it feels good.  It feels good to finally start something that I have been dreaming about for a while.  I don't know what direction this blog will lead me, but I am excited to be working on it. 

Here are a few pictures of our trip to the beach this weekend.  It was so windy and chilly, but we had a blast.
